International online-course – Business simulation came to an end.

International cooperation 28 Jan 2021

Since the beginning of the pandemic almost no international activities like student exchange have taken place. As travelling and therefore visiting and studying at a university abroad is currently not possible, the professors of our partner University - the Rhine-Waal University of applied sciences developed an idea on how to „move“ the international student exchange into the digital environment. Students from the partner universities were offered to participate in an online course normally taught at the Rhine-Waal University and containing a digital business start-up simulation.

During two months about 25 teams from five countries: Germany, Ghana (Africa), Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Ukraine ran their businesses and competed with each other to become the best company producing and selling surfboards.

“Over the last weeks, students have increasingly gained confidence in taking their business decisions and implementing their business strategies. Indeed many of the students enjoy this form of online collaboration. And who knows, given these positive experiences, perhaps this online teaching collaboration will even survive the pandemic and be relaunched next year again”, said Prof. Darr, the course coordinator.

Congratulations to the best teams! One of the academy teams “The wave point” showed good results and shared the fifth place with the team from Kharkiv.
