Vareriy Obukhovskiy, PhD in biological sciences, told the students about the most important criteria for maintenance of dairy cows. His lecture was to the topic “Cow comfort”. The lecturer paid attention to seven main needs of a cow necessary for its health. The so-called diamond of cow’s signals consists of water, fodder, air, space, rest and light.

The specialist shared the data of the researches about the required amount of light, the height of drinking-bowls, the necessary space and sleep period for a cow and many other indicators of cow comfort.

The lecture was very useful for the students and they showed interest to other topics which can be discussed with the Belorussian expert.
