Research activities of higher-education teaching personnel of Vologda SDFA are directed to the effective use and development of scientific potential of the academy, the development of defined scientific directions and the formation of new ones, which have in its basis the analysis of demands and priorities of the development of agro-industrial complex and economics of the regions of the North-western federal district of the RF.

The scientists of the academy aim to coordinate their work and direct it to the extension and strengthening of research and production relations with the leading enterprises of agro-industrial complex, and to intensification of scientific researches, taking into account demand for pilot projects, their commercializability and competitive ability.

The development of an effective system of implementing the results of scientific activity into practice has the high priority together with the increase of scientific- inventive and innovative ability of the scientists.
