Effect of herbicides on oil-bearing flax productivity
The article presents a comparative assessment of the effect of such selective herbicides as Herbitox, Furex, Miura and their tank mixtures on the yields of seeds and oil-bearing flax straw, as well as on the elements of its productivity, such as oil content, oil yield, protein content, protein yield, plant height and weight of 1000 seeds. The results of the research has revealed the dependence of yielding capacity of oil-bearing flax seeds on herbicides on the leached chernozem soil of the forest-steppe of the Middle Volga region. The variant of treating crops with Herbitox + Miura (1.0+1.0 l/ha) herbicides in 2019 and in 2020 has been the most effective one and has provided the highest seed- and oil yields. The flax-straw yield indicators in the hydrothermal conditions have been significantly leveled out in 2019-2020. The use of herbicides has not had a significant effect on the oil content of flax seeds and on the «protein content» indicator, while there has been a tendency to a slight decrease in the use of the preparations. The crude protein yield has dependence on both the seed yield and the crude protein content in the seeds. The herbicides used in the experiment have significantly reduced the plant height by 3.7‒6.1 cm.

Influence of diatomaceous earth and its combinations with poultry manure on soil fertility and crop productivity
The effect and aftereffect of various norms of silicon-containing agricultural ore (diatomite) on the content of humus, nutrition elements, exchange acidity, the fractional composition of water-bearing aggregates in the arable layer of gray forest soil and the productivity of corn and spring wheat were studied. Studies have found that the most significant effect on the increase in the content of humus, alkaline hydrolyzable nitrogen, mobile phosphorus and potassium, a decrease in metabolic acidity was caused by the introduction of diatomite in combination with bird droppings. It was found that the maximum increase in the total number of waterbearing aggregates in the arable layer of gray forest soil against the background of the action and aftereffect of diatomite in combination with bird droppings is mainly due to an increase in the number of water-bearing aggregates ranging in size from 1.0 to 0.25 mm. The highest effect on the productivity of corn and spring wheat was provided by the complex use of diatomite with bird droppings. The productivity of corn against their background increased by 47.7-59.6 %, the productivity of spring wheat by 26.8-35.4 %

Influence of manure, cover crops and combinations of them with a degrader of stubble on soil fertility and crop yields
The work gives a comparative assessment of the effect of manure, green manure and combinations of them with a stubble degrader on the supply of dry biomass, accumulation of total carbon in the arable layer of meadow-chernozem soils, crop yields and quality of crop production. The current research has shown that the effect and aftereffect of oilseed radish green manure, legume green manure and oilseed radish green manure combined with a stubble degrader fallow lands have not been inferior to the manure fallow land in terms of biomass accumulation. The maximum biomass accumulation has led to a complex effect and aftereffect of manure and legume green manure with a stubble degrader. A combined use of manure and legume green manure with a stubble degrader has had the most significant effect on the accumulation of total carbon. Manure fallow land in combination with a stubble degrader and green manure fallow lands with legume green manure in combination with a stubble degrader have had the highest effect on the yield of winter wheat and maize as well as the quality of crop production.
