Influence of thinning out and nitrogen fertilizers on photosynthesis and growth of spruce in birch forests of myrtillus type

The effect of different nitrogen doses and cutting on the rate of physiological and growth processes has been studied in birch forests of blueberry type in taiga zone. It has been established that nitrogen has got little effect on the vitality and growth of spruce in mature birch forests because of the light lack. In thinned stands the nitrogen increases the rate of photosynthesis twofold, activates processes associated with the accumulation and subsequent outflow of carbon metabolites from the needles. The result of this nitrogen action is the intensification of growth processes.

Dynamics of pigment fund formation and spruce growth in birch blueberry forest in tree stand ontogeny

The study of growth peculiarities and accumulation dynamics of photosynthetic pigments in spruce undergrowth in birch blueberry forests of different age is made. Methodology is described as well as brief characteristics of experimental objects are given.

Spruce undergrowth biomass structure in birch forests of various ages

In birch forests of bilberry type in vegetation conditions the influence of age statement of leaf-canopy on biometrical parameters of spruce undergrowth under the Syamzhenskiy district of the Vologda region is studied. It is established that with the birch age increase the conditions for growth and development of conifer undergrowth deteriorate, as a result it changes the biomass structure, morphometrical parameters and age of under canopy needles.
