The Quality of Silage Made from a Mixture of Fodder Galega and French Willow

Silage-making is a simple and reliable way to preserve the green fodder mass in a succulent state. The article regards the options for silage-making of fodder galega with the addition of French willow (rosebay willow-herb) in various ratios. The quality indicators of the finished feed have been determined. It has been revealed that the pH of all silage variants does not reach the biological limit values for the development of lactic acid bacteria (3.0 - 4.2).

Quality of feed species from eastern galega (Galega orientalis Lam.)

The experiments studied the influence of the vegetation phase of eastern galega (Galega orientalis Lam.) plants in the conditions of the North-Western region of Russia on the characteristics of the nutritional properties of the feed prepared from it. It was established that eastern galega should be harvested in the North-Western region for grass flour and pellets in the stalk phase.

Quality and nutritive value of Galega orientalis silage depending on the moisture content of the silage mass

In the experiments we studied the effect of the moisture content in

plant raw materials when making silage from Galega orientalis on its nutritional value

and quality. It has been found that the moisture content of raw materials has a great

impact on the quality and nutritional value of silage. The lower the moisture content

in the plant raw materials when making silage, the more nutritious and better silage is

obtained, which must be taken into account when preparing it.

Phytophagous in seed crops of galega orientalis in the Vologda region

Main phytophagous species belonged to the families of Coleoptera, Heteroptera, Homoptera, Lepidoptera are determined on seed crops of Galega orientalis on the sod-alsopozoriti soil. Longstanding research has established the influence of weather on the population dynamics of the pest and high efficiency of decis and bitoxybacillin of 85.5-95.5 %.

Yields of legume - cereal grass in pasture use depending on the species composition UNDER the Vologda region conditions

The article presents the results of the four years research (2012-2015) on yield capacity, nutritional value and botanical composition of grassland phytocenoses. The most productive is recognized as a four legume-cereal grass mixture on the basis of Carmine red clover and eastern goat’s-rue Krivich in combination with the fescue and timothy grass. Mixture is characterized by a high proportion of legumes (40.9%), enhanced yielding from 1 ha fodder units (2851), digestible protein (400.6 kg / ha) and high nitrogen-fixing ability (69.7 kg / ha).

Weevils of the genus Sitona in seed crops of galega orientalis

On seed crops of Galega orientalis (sod-weakly podzolic soil) weevils of the genus Sitona belonging to Coleoptera order have been found. High efficiency (98,5-100,0 %) of actellic drug against Sitona weevils with the normal flow of 1 l/ha has been established.
